Held every two years in celebration of wine, “Bordeaux Fête le Vin” is an event set along the 2km stretch of the Garonne River waterfront. Its main feature is a wine trail where visitors can discover the diversity of the 80 appellations from Bordeaux and Aquitaine as well as major Bordeaux brands. Tasting passes priced at €16 will give the holders the possibility to sample twelve different wines. In addition, dinners at grands crus châteaux will be held on some evenings as well as day trips through vineyards and renowned grands crus châteaux on the Sunday. The Festival offers a parade of several Aquitaine Wine Brotherhoods, wine tasting workshops, cooking lessons, food & wine pairing workshops and food stalls selling authentic products from the South West such as foie gras, Bayonne ham and Arcachon oysters. This year the event also features a gathering of twenty tall ships as well as the usual concerts, street art, sound and light shows and firework displays.
Open from 11 am to midnight. Admission free.
