This exhibition looks at a major period in Derain’s career, the pre-WW1 decade 1904 – 1914, when the co-founder of Fauvism became one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. It features some of the most famous works by Derain, including those he produced in the summer of 1905 at Collioure, his series of views of London and his large-scale compositions of dancers and bathers.
