Passionate about paintings and sculptures of his time, Monet assembled a rich art collection featuring works he bought, some he received as gifts from friends, others he got in exchange for one of his works. But after his death this collection was sold off and is now reunited for the very first time in this exhibition showing nearly a hundred pieces lent by worldwide private collections and museums. It includes works by Cézanne, Renoir, Manet, Delacroix, Pissarro, Rodin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Caillebotte and also by less-famous artists such as Paul Baudry, Carolus-Duran and Louis Chéret that captured the attention of Monet.
