New Crémant from Savoy

From now all sparkling wines from Savoy region but those from Seyssel and Ayze appellations will be called Crémant instead of Mousseux, Petillant or Methode Traditionnelle and have been awarded an AOP appellation. According to the regulations of this new appellation, grapes must be hand picked, wines must be made from at least 60% of the local varieties Altesse and Jacquère with at least 40% of the latter and then aged for a minimum of 12 months after bottling. Savoy crémant’s 2014 maiden vintage is now on sale.
